Economist
João Veiga Esteves holds a Masters degree on Economic Development and International Cooperation awarded by Lisbon Technical University (Economics and Management School) to his thesis “Mission and Performance of the African Development Bank- The Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique Case Studies”. His research work and overall performance also won him the Prize “Best UTL Students 2011” sponsored by the Santander Totta Bank. Since then he became a Research Fellow at the Africa, Asia and Latin America Studies Center, collaborating with or participating as guest speaker in several initiatives and lectures.
His study and research fields combine Development Studies and Macroeconomic Analysis and focus mostly on Latin America and Sub-Sahara Africa. In that same year of 2011, he won The International Scholarship Prize of Estoril Conferences to which he proposed his investigation project “Regional Integration and Energy Security – Mozambique´s Role in Southern Africa”.
As a consultant and project manager he assisted or managed several projects for public and private clients of Portugal, Angola and Mozambique, mostly on issues related to Organizational and Strategic Consultancy, Business Growth & Expansion and information systems.
