Francisco Figueira de Lemos is a Researcher at Uppsala University, in Sweden, and a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the Catholic University of Oporto. Has defended his doctoral thesis entitled “A Political View on the Internationalization Process” at the Upssala University in a doctoral program which included lectures attendance at Harvard Business School, in the United States.

His investigation focuses on comparative studies concerning the institutional environment between countries, namely the factors which explain the differences of performance of national economies. This scientific work have been receiving international recognition, through several papers published in international journals and excellence prizes like the Best Doctoral Proposal of the European International Business Academy/COST (2012) and Wallander Prize from Handelsbanken of Sweden (2013).

In 2014 he was nominated for the Gunnar Hedlund Award of the Best PhD Thesis in International Business field – 2012/2014.

Francisco Lemos' professional path includes a broad experience as a manager, enterprising and consultant in engineering and internationalization. He was also an advisor at the National Administration Ministry in the XVIII Portuguese Constitutional Government.
